We celebrated Memorial Day on Monday. We didn't visit any cemeteries, we worked in our yard and on our pond. This past week, I've thought about that day. I realized that work we were doing was honoring those who have went before us.
I thought about my Dad. How he always liked working with his hands, he was always busy. He would have been very interested in our pond project And, I'm sure he would of had his own opinion on what we were doing.
I thought of my Mom. Mom was a gardener. She loved flowers, wildlife, the outdoors. She would have sat and been spellbound by the fish, the flowers, and our frog. She probably would have been trying to figure out how she could have her own pond.
I thought of Susans Dad, Thaine. When we would go visit him, he would tell us stories about how much he loved to swim. He served in the Navy. I'm sure he had stories to tell. I wish I would have taken more time to ask about them.
I thought of my Uncle June. He was my moms sisters husband. When he died, I remembered the Pastor talking about how Uncle June regarded God. He wasn't much of a church goer, but Uncle June said when he was in nature he communicated with God.
I guess it doesn't matter how you honor those that you love. Whether you put flowers on their graves, or if you just remember those special memories you have. The main thing is to think about them, share your memories, always love them. I hope you had a good Memorial Day. I hope you have wonderful memories.

Our pond project!
On Mother's Day mom and dad decided they were going to start on their pond idea. After a couple of hours dad and i had most of the digging done. For a couple weeks it was just a great big whole in our backyard! But this weekend we got the liner and rocks and started putting it together. After we got the liner in we filled it up with water it was quite chilly if I may say. Madison and mom then went into Dodge to get the stuff you put into pond so you can have fish! We got about 15 fish but 3 died.:( Madison and I got two big fish to name hers is a white one with black and orange spot. She named it Squirt. My fish is a bright gold one, his name is Mr. Bubbles!:) I wish our camera was working so I could show you guys pictures! It looks really great!

SUMMER!
Summer is finally here! I'm sure Hannah, Mom, and I would all agree
we have been looking forward to it for a VERY long time! :) Although the last day of school was a little hectic for me, I was very fun and it makes me realize have much fun next year will be! It also makes me realize my time at Bucklin High School and the time remaining with all my class is almost over and I must make the most of this final year. Here are a couple of pictures of the last day!
Class of 2013
Officially a SENIOR!
This summer will be very busy though. Hannah is now babysitting the three little boys I watched last year because I decided two jobs might be a little too overwhelming for me! They love her and I know she'll have a blast with them. She will also be playing summer basketball, attending a school volleyball camp, and getting ready for her cheer leading season! (My baby sissy is a cheerleader! Never thought I would say that!) I am working at the pool in Bucklin as a lifeguard this year. Now, before you chuckle under your breath about how easy that job would be, let me first inform you it is not as easy as it sounds! I had a three day class back in April for Life guarding, First Aid/AED, and CPR. (This girl is officially certified in all those now! (: ) Plus, I had a day of in-service last Wednesday. Tomorrow is my first day and yes, I am a tad bit nervous! It's a big responsibility making sure everyone there is safe. Mom, is painting again at the school this summer and then once she's done with that she'll be helping Nana with the boys. Dad, is doing nothing different, but could possibly be home more this summer since harvest is starting so soon! :) <-- that is exciting! haha.
The thought of summer is slightly saddening though, because I definitely have very mixed emotions about being a senior and so does everyone else in this family! Ha, on the way home from graduation we were all teary eyed. Sometimes, I dread the thought of not being at home every night with the fam or not being with my classmates everyday. :( I don't want to leave them all yet! Other times, I get excited about not doing the exact same thing everyday and finding out what God has planned for my future. My schedule for the next school year looks easy, which will be new for me. I have had packed/stressful schedules in the past so I'm happy about an easy year! Also, Hannah is not to excited for 7th grade for some reason... I don't know why though, she will be my favorite Junior High-er still! ;) I can't wait to see how she advances this year in her sports. She had a great athletic year for a 6th grader last year so I'm expecting much more this year! I'm a proud big sister let me tell you! She looks so cute in her cheer uniform too!
Many more blogs to come this summer! Be looking for them! :)

Mother's Day!
dear Mommy,
I llloooovvveee you! I just wanted to take some time and say thank you for everything, since it is Mother's Day and all. ;) Thank you for being my best friend; the person I know will always be here by my side no matter what (other than dad and nana) and in a year will always be just a phone call away... even if its 3 in the morning! Thanks for being my shoulder to lean/cry on when I've had a really bad day and just want to complain about everything in life. Thank you for supporting Hannah and I in everything we do and for how you and dad always try your hardest to be at everything. Not every kid has those kind of parents and we are so blessed that we do. Thank you for teaching us everything you know and for raising us the way you did. I know, that without you and dad, there is no way Hannnah and I would have turned out the way are.
I hope you like the presents you got today, especially the roses. Which by the way, were a pain to get home. I thought they were going to die! :/ and once I got them home I was so worried you'd see them when I brought them inside!! haha. Dad and Hannah did good on the other gifts. LOL I love the grasshopper! I hope you had a fabulous day! Happy Mothers' Day, mommy! You're the best!
love,
Madi.
